Love, Psyche and Soul® is a radio broadcast featuring self-portrait narratives through an archetypal lens. The project aims to develop a broad understanding of Jungian analysis using multimedia art, music, spoken word, and film. Interviews, commentary, and sound pictures are presented using depth psychology approaches, and may include original music compositions, creative sound design, and traditional journalistic radio reporting to cover issues in greater depth.
Mindful attention is given to experiences that inform the development of the whole self while also cultivating a caring presence and fullness of life that is grounded in love, compassion, and inner transformation. By exploring this vital intersection between the arts and sciences in such multisensory works as, writing, narration, choreography, theatre, music, and poetry, participants bring consciousness to important issues through the power of healing, storytelling, and participatory research to enhance the lives of listeners.

"An “archetypal numinous encounter” is an involuntary or instinctual stimulus defined as a feminine figure that appears spontaneously in the peripheral or physical awareness of a person from the collective unconscious and produces acute sensations, feelings, and behaviors. In this episode, I describe the function of the archetypal numinous from a physiological and emotional perspective. I share an experience in my life to show how archetypal experiences render meaningful connections with the developing maternal consciousness of women. These experiences support the personal aim to acquire the fundamental essence of prenatal attachment as a "New Earth" phenomenon. Using Jungian theory, I demonstrate how an arousing numinous stimulus sensitizes a person to the presence of an archetypal dynamic situated in the Earth, and how that leads to changes in human behavior." — Danielle Burns
The Image of the Evolving Fetus
"In this drama, woman “X” experiences a rebirth while connecting with this broader cosmic ground that is the archetypal Self. This Self appears to determine her conscious ego’s capacity to deal with defensive reactions as heavenly enactments of the soul. The Mother, the Father, and the Me are all important elements in this archetypal phenomenon where images and energy cluster as we grow like stars in a celestial galaxy of undifferentiated quality, freshness, and vitality. Reflected in the unconscious ground of the maternal attachment experience, this archetypal manifestation illuminates the way for woman “X” to heal relationships with herself, her parents, and other relationships in the public arena.
The memory trace evident in this domain of archetypal numinosity where synchronistic events and body experiences occur may well assist those who are familiar with spiritual texts and ancient myths. As it appears, once the turmoil clears from the child’s life portrait, the woman observing a positive numinous archetype becomes a source of divinity in her own heavenly enactments, creating her own dubious configurations and becoming Goddess-like in the creation of self-made myths.
Through synchronicity and body experiences, woman “X” bonds with an image of the evolving fetus situated in the meaning of the positive numinous stimulus. This image touches upon the great secret, the great thing of God and is a symbol representative of the historical and mythological presence of the divine Other within. After a confrontation with the symbol of the divine Other within, woman “X” realizes she has identified with “something more” than the story she witnessed in her personal experience. The vessel of birth creates an awakening encoded within memory processes; it is the tree of embodied life in which new values and attitudes are gestated in the Earth.
In this story, symbols are those things closely identified with living mythologies where humans gather to reflect on their relationship with religious symbols of the divine, including the Great Mother and Father. In this story, no such person retains an old, worn-out pattern or ego that results in this repression of the “not-I.” For the ultimate is witnessed in those who become the originators of creative stories and possibilities of expression that would have brought them perilously close to death."
