"It's a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together."
My name is Danielle Burns. I am the owner of Conscious Healing and Consulting, a private practice in San Diego, California. My unique specialties in program development, voiceover reading, storytelling, and humanitarian service paved the way for my exceptional career as a clinical social worker, consultant, and performing artist.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I specialize in treating mental health disorders and other challenging experiences encountered by individuals, couples, and families.
Moreover, I am completing a doctoral degree in Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute with specialization in Jungian and Archetypal Studies. My dissertation research entitled, "Differing Holy Moments: A Depth Psychological Search for the Numinous in Prenatal Attachment Relationships" explores historical lineages of love and connection as contextualized within the extraordinary, particular, and diverse stories of women.
Having developed a broad understanding of depth psychotherapy approaches, I incorporate special techniques within client sessions involving dream work, active imagination, guided meditation, hypnotherapy, narrative therapy, subtle energy, psychoanalysis, personality typology, and cultural sensitivity.
The field of depth psychology reflects the diverse skill set of a macro level practitioner. As such, I bring the experience of having worked as a Consultant for the State of California, Department of Health and Human Services, a Child Welfare Training Administrator for the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, and a Management Consultant for multiple non-profit agencies.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Social Work from San Diego State University, a Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master’s degree in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.
I have advanced level training in Clinical Hypnotherapy from the Wellness Institute in Seattle, Washington, and the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). I hold member affiliations within the American Psychological Association (APA), and the APA Divisions of Psychoanalysis and Hypnosis. Also, I had the privilege of attending a Doctoral Fellowship at the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center where I received additional mentorship on psychoanalytic principles.
Currently, I am an Adjunct Faculty Professor of Psychology at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. In my spare time, I enjoy writing poetry, creating gifts of healing through voice and music, and traveling abroad to explore different cultures.
